FTCE - General Knowledge

I'm back in Orlando this weekend for all four parts of the FTCE General Knowledge exam (essay, English language skills, reading comprehension, and math). When you register, they tell you the exam will take 4.5 hours, but I think that accounts for breaks. I finished a little while ago, and I was done in about 3.25 hours; I didn't take any breaks between sections, and the only section I used the whole time for was the essay.

The good news is, I know I passed English language skills, reading comprehension, and math. The bad news is, I won't know whether or not I passed the essay portion for approximately 6 weeks! I wish I was more confident about my essay, but I ran out of time for it, and although I think I started out with a fairly strong beginning, the second half was rushed and not exactly what I would have liked it to be. So, we'll see in 6 weeks if it was good enough to at least pass. I hope so.

I used the CliffsTestPrep FTCE: General Knowledge prep book to review for this exam, and I think it gave a pretty accurate picture of the types of questions that were on the exam in each part. I like that it has both a pre-test, so you can decide which areas you need to focus on, and two full practice tests. I also really like that the answers are explained, so if you get one wrong, you're not stranded trying to figure out why.
