When I started the school media track at FSU, there were two required education classes that were not available online through FSU, but there were equivalents that could be taken through University of Phoenix online that were pre-approved for transfer credit. I assumed that I would take these two courses one summer and be done with it.
Then, FSU decided they would figure a way to offer these two education classes online after all. Last summer they started offering a reading instruction class through the library science department that counted. I am registered for that class this summer. They also have plans to offer the educational psychology class that is needed online, but as of fall 2010, it's still not on the schedule. But, since there are plans for it, they said they didn't want to accept transfer credit anymore. I will hopefully do my internship in spring 2011, so I kind of need to take the class either this summer or this fall. So, I asked for special permission to take the UoP class and transfer it - they said yes. I am now signed up for the last education class I need through University of Phoenix - it starts 5/18 and is six weeks long.
I'm kind of nervous how it's going to work taking a 6-week highly compressed course at the same time as a more normal paced 13 week course, but at least the UoP course should be done before final project/paper crazy time in the other course.

Well, good job Laura. You decided what you needed to do and you made it happen. I hope you realize how proud your Dad and I are of you.
