Book Review: Amigurumi! Super Happy Crochet Cute

Having just completed the cheeseburger pattern from Amigurumi!: Super Happy Crochet Cute by Elisabeth A. Doherty, I have to say that if this pattern is representative of the other patterns in the book, it's not one I plan to buy for my collection. I like to borrow craft books and recipe books from the library before buying them whenever possible, and in this case, I'm very glad I did. The pattern was difficult to follow at times, required much more counting than necessary (ex. Rnds 3-8 increase by 6 stitches evenly spaced each round rather than telling you how many stitches to do between each increase), and the pattern for the top bun had major mistakes in the round numbering which led to ripping out and starting over.

The end result is pretty cute, but I'm sure there must be other patterns out there for similar types of products that are easier to follow. This particular burger will be part of Isaac's birthday present (so don't look Isaac!!).

I got three new amigurumi/crochet pattern books recently: Tasty Crochet, Super Cute: 25 Amigurumi Animals (not to be confused with the other Super Cute Crochet book I just reviewed), and Amigurumi Two!, and I can't wait to try some of the patterns in them!
